I am very pleased to write in hearty recommendation of the services of Anna Lastochkina as translator for English-speaking persons and groups. Anna is a person of great professionalism, very personable, and with a superb command of English.
In November of 2004, I led a church-related group to St. Petersburg for the purpose of continuing to build relationships with members of a sister United Methodist church in the city. Anna was our main translator and frequently our guide during those days. Not only did she excel in her task as translator, but she helped our group to feel right at home in St. Petersburg. In addition, she was always perfectly punctual, cheerful, and at ease with us. Our group remarked as well on how quickly Anna picked up on theological and ecclesiastical terminology from our tradition which was previously unknown to her, including terms used by me in preaching. Clearly, she is someone who would rapidly master any new set of technical vocabulary, according to her clients' needs. I enthusiastically recommend Anna Lastochkina, and look forward to working with her again during a future visit to Russia.
