Peterhoff (Petrodvorets)
The museum of Peterhoff is an outstanding landmark of Russian artistic culture of the 18-19th centuries. Founded by Emperor Peter the Great not far from his new capital St. Petersburg, Peterhoff became an official royal summer residence. Its wonderful parks, almost 200 fountains of various forms and styles, four cascades, majestic palaces, numerous gilded and marble statues, rich collections of sculpture and painting make Peterhoff a veritable gem of art, often called "Capital of Fountains".
During the tour you will see the Grand palace, the Upper garden, the Lower park, the Grand cascade and many beautiful fountains. Instead of the Grand palace we can visit one of the minor palaces (Monplaisir, Hermitage, Catherine's block).
